I’m Associate Dean for South Seattle College’s Georgetown Campus, which houses the college’s bachelor’s degree, apprenticeship, and short-term training programs. I previously served as Interim Associate Dean of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, and teach the occasional class for our Continuing Education division as well. I hold a PhD in American Religious History (secondary area: Islamic History) from Florida State University and was an instructor there for a number of years. My dissertation, “Environmental Religion and the American Transcendentalist Legacy,” examined the nineteenth-century roots of nature-oriented spirituality in American culture.
